Our Story

We founded AfroHealth Inc. to solve a paradox we could no longer ignore: a world with both an abundance of medicine and a profound lack of access.

Every year, viable medicines are wasted while families go without essential treatments. We knew this gap could be bridged, and we believed the most meaningful change begins at home.

Our mission starts here, in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. By creating a sustainable model for health equity in our own community, we are building the foundation to one day expand our reach to Eastern Africa and beyond.

With rigorous professional oversight and strict regulatory compliance, we partner with healthcare providers and manufacturers to turn surplus into a lifeline—first for our neighbors, and then for the world.

Our Mission

To advance health equity by creating a safe and reliable pipeline that connects surplus medicine to underserved communities.

As a Washington D.C.–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, licensed by the DC Board of Pharmacy, we are committed to bridging the gap between waste and want. We partner with healthcare facilities and manufacturers, ensuring that viable medications are redirected to those who need them most. Our work is defined by rigorous regulatory compliance, a secure supply chain, and transparent practices, guaranteeing that every donation is handled with the highest standards of safety and ethics.

Current Status

AfroHealth Inc. is a Washington, D.C.–based 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit and is licensed by the D.C. Board of Pharmacy as a pharmaceutical distributor.

We are currently building a safe, compliant medication access model in the Washington, D.C. region by developing partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, healthcare facilities, safety-net clinics, and community organizations.

AfroHealth Inc. does not operate as a hospital, clinic, medical practice, or direct patient-care provider. We do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or dispense medications directly to individuals. Our role is to support medication access through compliant partnerships with licensed healthcare and community partners.

Our current focus is to build a strong D.C. foundation first — with proper licensing, policies, partner screening, medication handling procedures, and accountability systems — before expanding responsibly to underserved communities globally.

Our Vision

A world where no lifesaving medicine is wasted while people suffer from a lack of access.

We believe this future is achievable. That's why we are creating a blueprint for change, starting in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. By building a sustainable and scalable pharmaceutical redistribution model here at home, we are preparing to expand our impact to underserved communities globally.
